Today has been the weirdest day ever. First we were in St. Louis, MO, and thought lets go see the Gateway Arch before we leave St. Louis. So first we went to see the statue of Chuck Berry and then we headed to the Arch. Unfortunately we never got there. The GPS took us in the right direction and then told us we arrived but we were in an underpass, the Arch was above the underpass. Then all the roads leading to the Arch seemed to be closed due to flooding or maintenance. So we decided to head out on Route 66. We finally found it, but were on our way out of St. Louis when we found ourselves in front of barriers to the road, so we got back on 44W.
After we finally got going and out of the city, we decided again to get on Route 66. Once again we were doing pretty good, but a car coming from opposite direction flashed it's lights at us, so we thought must be a police officer up ahead. SO we slowed down and once again found a barrier, we turned around and headed back to 44 W. As we drew close to the place we had to turn back we looked to see why, only to find out that a semi truck had flipped off 44 W and slid down the hill across Route 66. Decided to stay on 44 W, until we went to see the Meramec Caverns in Stanton.
After an 80 minute tour we got back on 44 W only to get a few miles down the road and come to a stop. When we finally got to where the problem was there was three cars and two trucks carrying kiddy rides in an accident with the trucks jack knifed in the road.
And to make matters worse my Pentax stopped taking pictures. Not sure why, but it won't delete pictures either. So you will not see Chuck Berry, or the Blueberry Hill restaurant or some other pics from that camera. I can show you some pics from my camera.
