Earlier I posted about trip to Oklahoma City, but I could not download my pictures of the Blue Whale of Catoosa, so that first:
We spent the night at a hotel in Oklahoma City and then decided to go to the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. I did not see this listed in any of my traveling Route 66 books, but I think it is relatively new. If you are in Oklahoma well worth the trip. Not only did it have art, bronzes, including some from Remington as well as newer artists, but it had artifacts from Native American Tribes, Cowboys, Frontiers Men and a whole frontier town inside the building. I will share some pics.
On to Amarillo Texas, part of Route 66 closed so we had to travel by I-40 sometimes, but it was next to Route 66.
Slug Bug Ranch in Conway
Dinner and a storm Brewing in Amarillo Texas, good food and a fun place.

I think that’s the hotel I stayed at. It has a Texas shaped pool! But it was October and too cold for swimming. :)
